I never feel more alive, or more lucky to be alive, than when I'm
running. This morning as I ran through the forest - watching the sky
grow pale, hearing birds chirp, the creek babble, and big drops of
moisture fall from moss-covered branches onto the carpet of ferns
below - was pure enlightenment. Everything seems so perfectly clear.
And perfect.
